| Last Week of April |
It’s finally raining! What a relief, after so many weeks of draught. The trees here are beginning to leaf out, and they will really need the moisture. The Shad (Amelanchier) are in bloom, which means the Shad are running in the Hudson, and fruit trees are getting ready to bloom. Early wildflowers like trout lilies and violets are opening, and the fern fronds are popping up all over. In other words, May will be bursting out all over as soon as the temperatures warm up again.
