Join us for a field trip to Wild Hudson Valley in Cairo, NY! We'll learn about different types of forest farming as we tour Wild Hudson Valley's mushroom laying yard, woods-cultivated forest botanicals, and demonstration wild-simulated ginseng planting. Along the way, we'll identify wild edible and medicinal plant and mushroom species that owners Anna and Justin steward and forage from as part of their diversified forest farming operation.

Wild Hudson Valley is a forest farm and educational organization based in the Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley in New York State. Husband-wife team Anna Plattner and Justin Wexler manage large-scale wild-simulated ginseng plantings, a shiitake mushroom laying yard, a one-acre diversified native fruit & nut tree orchard, and steward a wide variety of forest botanicals and native meadow plant populations. Wild Hudson Valley’s Eco Camp offers overnight stays, guided walks and workshops throughout the summer months. Anna and Justin offer ginseng seed and rootstock, as well as wild leek/ramp transplants, and are excited to offer planting stock for many more forest botanicals over the next few years.
