Join us for our first-ever chainsaw safety training! The morning will begin inside the Education Center and we'll spend the afternoon outdoors with hands-on training. Topics covered include:

Reactive Forces
Cutting, Binds, Notches, & Wedges
Learn & DO with professional grade saws
Educational CEUs: Arborist and CTSP pending
Registration is required and costs $250/person. Space is limited. Coffee, water and snacks will be provided; please plan to bring a lunch. When registering, please share your chainsaw experience and what gear/equipment you will be bringing to the training (it's helpful for our instructor). No equipment or PPE is required; all necessary tools and items will be provided for you and sponsored items will be given to you: files, safety glasses, bar oil, and more. The rain date is Wednesday, May 28th (same time, same place).
Instructor Melissa LeVangie Ingersoll adores sharing her love of trees and the skills she’s acquired over the last 29 years in the industry of arboriculture. Melissa is a passionate educator and her down to earth approach lends her subject matter expertise to be accessible by students, newbie to advanced people alike. As the Women’s Tree Climbing Workshop® Owner and Co-Founder, Melissa serves as a lead instructor, curriculum developer, website designer, and head of marketing... and more. Melissa is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts, B.S. in Forestry; with a diverse background Melissa brings a wealth of knowledge to her passion of arboriculture. With trail construction and maintenance, firefighting, chainsaw training and more, she is passionate to learn as much as she gives.
